SMT Stencil
The advantages of processing SMT stencil by ZF Electronics
The SMT stencil is made by laser cutting, which has the advantages of short delivery time, high precision and quality assurance. The thickness of SMT stencil processing can be from 0.03-0.6mm, and it can also be made according to the GERBER or PCB provided by customers.
ZF Electronics can form holes in SMT stencil by any of the following ways
1. Electroforming
In this process, nickel is electro-casted to produce SMT stencils. This process involves higher initial cost and also requires longer processing time compared to other manufacturing methods.
2. Laser cutting
A laser machine is used to create the holes in the stencil foil. Laser cutting is a subtraction process that produces precise and accurate results.
3. Chemical etching
Holes are created by chemical etching, a process that involves very low PCB manufacturing cost.
ZF Electronics can provide SMT stencils in different materials
1. Stainless steel SMT stencils
These SMT stencils are made of stainless steel and are used for prototype circuit board. They enable users to reduce errors and can easily meet soldering requirements.
2. Polyester film SMT stencils
These templates are made by laser etching polyester film material. They are mainly used in prototyping to ensure the best performance during manual welding.
